Chapter 1

Omegle is pretty weird sometimes. It's probably because every other person you meet on it is a pervert, but never as weird as this time. But I'm getting ahead of myself here; let's start at the beginning.

One late Saturday night, I was bored as hell and had to resort to the old fallback position: flirting with anonymous strangers.

I went on Omegle and started a chat. I got a few trolls who did the usual "asl" and when the found I was male told me to piss off. After those few false starts, I found a more polite woman who stayed and talked for a while. Then she said she had to go and ended the conversation.

By this time it was around midnight and I decided I would just try once more. I found someone and was about to ask asl when whoever it was said something that chilled me to the bone.

"Hi John."

How did this person know my name? I asked them quickly.

"Because I know you, John. I've been watching you.

Holy crap. That was creepy. "This is probably a prank. Lots of people have the name John. It's probably just a guess. Besides, it's impossible this person could actually know who you are," I told myself.

That logic didn't do much to comfort me.

"Why have you been watching me?" I asked.

"So that I know when I can kill you."

My heart skipped a beat. This was either a vicious prank or I was chatting with a insane killer.

"Why do you want to kill me?" I asked, hoping that this would give me some idea who this fruitcake was.

"I don't hate you, John. I just want to kill you. It's what I do. Oh, by the way, expect a visitor tonight."

And the nut left, leaving me sitting there, scared out of my wits.

It's 1 o'clock now. It's been an hour since he left the chat.

I hear the sound of someone trying to open the door.

Oh no.

OpheliaJones: This story took a different kind of spin on the "normal girl lives with definitely not normal guy" plot. The plot points of Frey's father, Liam's family, and Frey's view of Liam's world were good to read. She did not fall in love with him in the first couple weeks. Their lives were not smooth in ...

RodRaglin: Your writing is very good, Rachel, but remember you also have to entertain the reader and in that regard it's a bit sparse in action and dialogue.Consider when revising...When starting a new story always consider your protagonist's Goal - what they want; Motivation - why they want it; and, Confli...

Althea Kerr: This is a tale that is all too familiar to South African readers having lived through a war era on our borders and beyond. It is obviously autobiographical as the mind under duress is so detailed and real. It has fantastic suspense if a bit disjointed - perhaps that is the fear and loneliness com...

Animeviewer: It is one of the best stories I've ever read. briggy1998: I really enjoyed the book, even though I had to skip a few lines, because at times it could get a bit disturbing🙆🏻😅What I would have liked is if you could have given a bit more insight into jack's and fiona's relationship, especially the epilogue was a bit short 😬Other than that an amazing story!

cuzley: I enjoyed this read, the romance and the "who done it" worked well together, I would recommend this story to both romance and mystery readers .

taosgw74: If this is the authors first attempt at writing, I'm floored. I was engrossed in the plot from the get go.

dd1226: I love reading about other countries and I think this story about Cambodia after Polpot creates awareness of the tragedy that happened there and the actions of the U.N. to hold elections. rachelrainford6: This probably has to be one of the best books I've read on here. I read it quite quickly and I'll have to say the story took a turn towards the end that I did not see coming. The topic discussed in this book such as life really gave me a new insight and I realize that it is taken for granted.
