Blurb

The novel is a voice driven narrative about irresolvable internal contradictions that we all face in our minds and in our lives. It is glimpse into the narrator’s mind as he confronts a past he cannot change, a present that is at times too hard to bear and a future that he wants with every fiber of his being to be certain. It is his stream of consciousness we are plunged into. We are given access to his deepest thoughts, fears, dreams and flaws as he navigates loss, love, and the lies he has told himself to cope with grief, murder and a reality he himself is not too certain of. We may at first empathize with him. We may grow angry and frustrated with him. We may pity him, but regardless of out sentiment towards him we read on. His words are sprinkled with truths about himself and us.

Introduction, Disclaimer and Warning

To whomever reads this, Thank you. You’ve made one of my hopes come to fruition. I must warn you, I am an average individual. I’m no different than you, that being said it seems like there is no need to share any of this with you. However there really is. As you read and turn from page to page, know that this is me. These are my thoughts and feelings. They are disorganized. They are often hypocritical. They are pitiful, disturbing, inspiring, and endearing. At least I hope they are.

I cannot promise that you will be entertained, I cannot promise that you will find some valuable lesson, nor can I say you will even remember my words once you put them away. What I can promise is that I am giving what I am to you.

These words exist so there can be somebody; even if it is only one person, who will know me, truly know me. As human beings we never truly know one another. We set up barriers: languages, culture, custom, and lies to name a few. My entire life I have longed to be understood, reaching out as if grasping for something to keep from falling to some fatal end.

This is my hand, please read and take hold.

Althea Kerr: This is a tale that is all too familiar to South African readers having lived through a war era on our borders and beyond. It is obviously autobiographical as the mind under duress is so detailed and real. It has fantastic suspense if a bit disjointed - perhaps that is the fear and loneliness com...

rachelrainford6: This probably has to be one of the best books I've read on here. I read it quite quickly and I'll have to say the story took a turn towards the end that I did not see coming. The topic discussed in this book such as life really gave me a new insight and I realize that it is taken for granted.

taosgw74: If this is the authors first attempt at writing, I'm floored. I was engrossed in the plot from the get go.

allisonflin: Without a doubt the most well written story that I have read on this site. Informative, discriptive, well punctuated. Then we have the story itself, which by the way I am waiting on the edge of my seat for part two of, the characters are more than likeable, you feel them and their emotions...
