Her life passed in seasons. Not conventional ones, you see; in which lengths are predetermined and storms are predictable. They passed rather sporadic and mercurial, like waves in constant change of motion— pushing towards land but never quite reaching it. Until one day the earth absorbed each liquid drop in eager consummation. Water and Earth merged together in a passionate embrace like hydrogen and helium unifying into a heap of space-dust, readying to fuse together until a star is born. She felt the emptiness that once consumed her s l o w l y dissipate as the void itself became full with brilliant e l e c t r i c i t y. That was the moment. The moment her past seasons drifted off to the place where memories die to make way for newer, sweeter stories dipped in honey. The moment time stopped and l i g h t dipped into the cracks of her bones to make its home there- in the spaces where fear and loathing used to sleep. She thought this must be what a butterfly feels like the very moment it sheds the shell which encumbered its true form. f r e e . . This was it- the moment her soul recognized him. The beginning of a new season.

Her life passed in seasons.

Not conventional ones, you see;

in which lengths are predetermined

and storms are predictable.

They passed rather sporadic

and

mercurial

like waves in constant change of motion—

pushing towards land

but never quite reaching it.

Until one day the earth absorbed

each liquid drop in eager consummation.

Water and Earth

merged together in a passionate embrace

like hydrogen and helium unifying into a

heap of space-dust,

readying to fuse together

until a star is born.

She felt the emptiness that once consumed her

s l o w l y

dissipate as the void itself became full with brilliant

e l e c t r i c i t y.

That was the moment.

The moment her past seasons drifted off

to the place where memories die to make way for newer,

sweeter stories dipped in honey.

The moment time stopped and

l i g h t

dipped into the cracks of her bones

to make its home

there-

in the spaces where

fear and loathing used to sleep.

She thought this must be what a butterfly feels like

the very moment it sheds the shell which encumbered its true form.

f r e e .

This was it:

The moment her

soul recognized him.

The beginning of a new season.

dd1226: I love reading about other countries and I think this story about Cambodia after Polpot creates awareness of the tragedy that happened there and the actions of the U.N. to hold elections. The heroine of the story is easy to relate to, a modern, middleaged woman looking for an adventure, wanting t...

Brandy: What a great take on the idea of finding your dream man. The story was very emotional with strong characters. I would recommend this story to any who wants to read a good love story. And yes, Italian food does make everything better.

Sammi Chan: THIS WAS AMAZING!!! My favorite part of this story was the slow build of Merlin and Arthur's relationship. Their relationship was rlly nicely fleshed out and so good :) The way that you handled the magic reveal was super enjoyable. I rlly liked the switching POVs. Good!Mordred was cute and I'm rl...

RodRaglin: Your writing is very good, Rachel, but remember you also have to entertain the reader and in that regard it's a bit sparse in action and dialogue.Consider when revising...When starting a new story always consider your protagonist's Goal - what they want; Motivation - why they want it; and, Confli...

FreakyPoet: I found this story well written and extremely cute. I like how the emotional roller coaster, otherwise know as love, was done here. it was very believable that these two characters would deny, agonize, then come to except their feelings the way that they did. I enjoyed it very much, thank you ...

AnnaLucia: This fanfiction has an amazing plot. It's very different from the books, yet the author still managed to keep the personalities the characters had in the books. Your Alec and Magnus still are themselves, even though you created a different plot where Bane had to seduce Lightwood to get informati...

mariamalkorashy: Simply alluring, I have become addicted. Now the rest of this message is simply words because it notified me saying that my Review was to short haha. It has done it again so yup I am still here writing once more haha.

jseversky: Was amazing loved every second of it I really want to read more, and definitely would. Hope the author makes a 2nd book. Kept me on the edge of my seat the whole time, loved it. The author describes everything in in new and innovative ways, and love the 2 separate view points.

Michael Hogan: If anyone would advise Lindsey Martin-Bower not to mix religion and politics, she would probably tell them to take a hike. This rollicking novella does just that. It considers the case of Yung Sung Gonne and his Universality Church and two young women trying to bring it down. Frustrated by the ru...
