Prologue

Alison woke up that morning feeling as if something had been inside her. She now felt empty inside. A twinge of pain pulled her to the ground. She cried out in agony, holding her stomach as blood began to cover the floor. "I-I I'm sorry." her thick accent carrying her words through the halls. With a soft thud, Alison collapsed completely...

"Who is she?" The detective spoke with an understanding demeanor.

"Alison Marx. Student at KCC." His partner stood behind him. The detective turned, obviously surprised at her sudden appearance.

"Kidman, the hell are you doing here?"

"My job. How did she die?"

The examiner crouched beside the body, "According to the sown area on her abdomen, she had a botched surgery. When she stood, the trauma overtook her body and she bled out."

"If that was true then how did she receive these burns?" Intricate burns were placed all over her body. Swirls and astrological planes surrounded her face.

"For fuck's sake Sanders. Enough with the Goddamn alien shit." Kidman left the force for a reason and this was it.

"You want to tell me that this doesn't look strange? You think that this is just a coincidence?" Sanders screamed, startling the whole crew.

"Jesus, calm down. Yes this is suspicious, but it isn't proof that aliens exist. In fact this is just the exact opposite. This could just be some tattoo that she got in another country." Kidman examined the body. "These are constellations. Graphed correct-..." Alison's stomach collapsed and a rotting smell filled the room.

"Johnson, what the fuck is that?" Sanders half shouted from beneath his jacket that covered his mouth and nose.

"Her stomach is rotten." The examiner flipped through his papers and notes. "This isn't possible." He whispered to himself.

"Johnson. Johnson, what is it?" Kidman shook his shoulders.

"Just get her to the lab. I need more specialized eyes." Johnson glared at Sanders and stood, walked passed, and hit his shoulder intentionally. Annoyed, Sanders walked out of the apartment.

"What the hell was that?"

"What was what?" Sanders kept his eyes straight ahead of him, walking faster.

"Sanders."

"What?!" He spun around faster than what seemed humanly possible.

"Never...mind." Kidman stepped back, quite frankly afraid of him.

"Shit." Sanders rubbed his hand against the side of his face. "Look, Johnson and I... we-"

Kidman cut him off, "I said never mind... This case is fucking weird, but let me guess. You're gonna be the one to solve it."

Sanders chuckled, "Let's go grab some coffee."

genlynne2379: I read the other review of this book and I must say that I disagree with it wholeheartedly. I do not believe the author put the apostrophes in the names just to be unique, but because the characters are supposedly of a different race than humans. They are Anmah. They should have different names a...
